| Cute Kitten to make up for bad post |
Essentially my time was filled with activities of a higher priority. I was going to say that I have "better things to do" but hey, what could be better than writing down badly constructed sentences in a lame attempt to entertain my dearest friends . . .all
So why am I writing something now?! Long story short I am on a "holiday" as I wait for my new job to start. Although I have managed to fill the past week with somewhat fun activities the list of fun is coming to an end and I even found myself meditating and contemplating life in a philosophical manner to pass the time.
I feel I should point out now that this blog will not involve a video, it will probably not be very funny - BUT it will give you an insight into my random thoughts over the last day or so.Note: Meditation = Staying in bed past 12:00. Philosophical manner = daydreaming about being a superhero (Captain America, or Captain China if you prefer).
Let's get into the meat of this then, what is the topic? In an attempt to hold the "suspense" I will start off with the back story:
Once upon a recent time I got a new job. I believe the new job influenced my dream. The end.I may have cut the story short but it was going to get very boring. Being as concise as possible I am going to rant about lifestyle choices, then give you a list of things I want to do and why.
So my dream was
Socialite - A person who spends their time and resources socializing with elites, those with the finer tastes in life. Traveler - A person who spends their time and resources seeing the world, seeing new places etc.So how do I do either. I guess I can apply for membership for societies in London and assuming I get in, enjoy the privilege of having rooftop garden parties held in Mayfair. Or I can book flights around the world and take in as much as I can.
Alert! Cheesy obvious life morale blah blah story!
Why can't one have both?! The main issue would be funds as most people can't afford to be spending hundreds on a casual night out and still have enough to go gallivanting around the world.
This life lesson thing is really boring me, I genuinely just tried to see wind out my window, what did I expect? white lines racing across my window attacking nearby trees? I'm just going to give you a list of things that I want to do off the top of my head now and the reasoning. It is in no particular order and it is not everything I want to do, just what immediately comes to mind.
I am also going call each point either an S or a T based holiday depending on whether I think it is something a socialite or a traveler would do.
Drive The Nurburgring
I would love to do this multiple times either in car on on bike. Why? If you have watched any top gear then you would understand. The idea of unrestricted freedom on your vehicle and the ability to witness and experience everything the country has to offer however you want sounds like one of the best experiences to be had. You may question why not just do this as a normal holiday with public transport etc. I would happily do that and with just as much fun. Putting motor in the title though makes me seem more manly, and given some of the next few points I will need as many man points as possible. Why haven't I done this? I do not have any decent excuses, perhaps the fear of doing it alone, timings due to my want to progress my career, lack of people to go with. I need to step on it and seriously do this. I'd give it a T, the whole point is the scenery, immersing yourself in the culture, first hand experience of non developed countries.
Japan, Korea and China are definitely go to countries, different in a different way and home to some of my favorite tunes. The food is amazing and the culture is on it's own scale. Obviously as many of you know I would love to swirl around falling cherry blossoms, too many Disney princess movies? I don't think one could ever forget their experience in east Asia. Please note I have already been to China and it is #awesome, being of Chinese descent although I love it it does not have the same level of mysteriousness, and everyone loves a good mystery. If I had never been to China I would be selling it to you so hard that you would probably have bought your ticket already. Actually go buy it now, I guarantee you won't regret it. Why haven't I done this? Since it is incredibly expensive. Mark my words however I will travel here, and I will dance among the pink trees. I am really not too sure what rating to give this as you could make it an S or a T depending on what you did.
Freedom. Enough said. Living in Manhattan on the upper east side definitely has nothing to do with me watching Gossip Girl. In all seriousness however there is something attractive about the States, be the leather boots in Texas or the surfboarding in California it is a country that has a definitive lure. Everything is bigger in the states and a lot of the TV shows & movies I have seen originate there - which really makes me want to see what the big deal is about. Also I just saw Captain America 2 which is flipping amazing. Living and travelling to America though is difficult due to costs and visa's/ greencards etc however a Holiday here is definitely on my things to do list. I'd label this an S for what I would want to do.
Going to cheat again and add a few countries. Picture you, your dearest other half and a handful of your closest friends in the warm waters on a yacht in Monaco, or dressing smart for your casino trip in Monte Carlo, or even taking in the sights of Italy on classic Vespas. This is the ultimate S rating, but perhaps being James Bond for a short while isn't too bad? The ability to spoil your significant other whilst pretending to be big deals with your friends should undoubtedly bring barrels of fun.
Ending . . .
So what you have just read is 5 travel based things I would love to do, it is not my full list of destinations or perhaps even my top list of trips but they are things I want to do. Not sure if you enjoyed reading this, if anyone has read this . . . Perhaps my next post will be more eye grabbing, top 5 ladies lists is always a conversation of topic for any man.
Oh also I see I started this blog entry off with some story with being a socialite or a traveler however that was really a "in the moment" thing, and I completely lost track of that so just consider it as a random thing.
xoxo
